Announcement on The Importation, Supply, and Distribution of Illegal Mobile Phones, Tablets and Smartwatches Bearing the Trademarks Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, TECNO, Infinix, itel, Nubia, RedMagic, ASUS, Nothing, OnePlus, Google Pixel, Blackview, Black Shark, and KOSPET
The Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) would like to inform wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises and shops engaged in importation, supply and distribution of telecommunications equipment in the Kingdom of Cambodia that TRC has identified certain traders or wholesale distributors that have been illegally importing and supplying telecommunications equipment—specifically mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches under the trademarks (brands) Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Tecno, Infinix, itel, Nubia, RedMagic, Asus, Nothing, OnePlus, Google Pixel, Blackview, Black Shark, and KOSPET — to retail enterprises and shops within the Kingdom of Cambodia without obtaining a Qualified Agent (QA) Certificate for the importation, supply, and distribution of telecommunications equipment, a Type Approval (TA) Certificate for each model of telecommunications equipment, and an Import Permit for telecommunications equipment from TRC. These unauthorized activities are in violation of Articles 15 and 16 of the Law on Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Furthermore, TRC has observed that several wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises and shops have been advertising and selling the above-mentioned products through various websites and Facebook pages, including:

Hence, TRC urges that all wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises and shops that have been importing, supplying and distributing telecommunications equipment, including mobile phones, tablets and smartwatches bearing the trademarks mentioned above must immediately cease all illegal importation, supply and distribution activities and take immediate action to ensure compliance with the Laws and Regulations of the Kingdom of Cambodia. All wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises and shops are required to apply for a QA Certificate from TRC within 30 (thirty) days from the date of this notification and must fulfill the obligation to obtain a TA Certificate for each model of telecommunications equipment that has been and/or will be circulating in the market of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In the event that the wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises, and shops fail to comply with the above legal requirements within the specified deadline, TRC will take strict measures, including confiscation of illegal telecommunications equipment, imposition of fines, closure of advertising websites, and/or implementation of other measures in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. In addition, TRC would like to remind all retail enterprises and shops to immediately cease the illegal purchase and resale of products bearing the above-mentioned trademarks until TRC issues a notification confirming the legal status of the importing, supplying, and wholesale distributing companies and enterprises.
TRC calls upon all wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises and shops that are legally engaged in the importation, supply, and distribution of telecommunications equipment to cooperate and report the identities and addresses of individuals, companies, enterprises, or warehouses of traders or wholesale distributors involved in illegal telecommunications equipment activities to TRC via hotline number 6789 during working hours or by email at info@trc.gov.kh.
Therefore, all wholesale and/or retail companies, enterprises, and shops that have been and are currently engaged in the business of importing, supplying, and distributing telecommunications equipment are hereby informed of these regulations and requested to cooperate accordingly.
